Avyukt Arts
Avyukt Arts is an initiative by Warrier Foundation to promote Indian classical dance and music.Divya Warier, trustee of Warrier Foundation and a professionally trained classical dancer and performing artist herself, has always felt very passionately about promoting art amongst our youth and future generations. Thus began Avyukt Arts,an incubator for art lovers across the world to imbibe India’s sublime dance and music tradition and get a glimpse of their own divine essence.
Avyukt Arts carries out a multitude of activities under the banner of Warrier Foundation such as imparting of education of the art forms at all the Balamandirams, classical performances at various platforms and so on.
Our goal, through Avyukt Arts, is to provide regular art lessons to the kids at the Balamandiram. Ancient wisdom tells us that kids can pick an art form of their choice and channelise it to make their minds and actions more productive.
Outreach program through Music
The Balamandiramin Mumbai has been conducting Hindustani music classes for kids for more than a year now with the support of Rohit Warrier, a student in the United States of America, who sponsors this program through fees received from performing percussion (Mridangam) at various events, while juggling his academic commitments. In order for the program to be more successful, we have also introduced the following initiatives:
Hire a mentor who can teach children various art forms
Set up a regular schedule for everyone to get lessons
Get extra funding to allow the lessons to progress into the future
Older kids to help teach younger kids; “train the trainer” sessions
Have recitals so they can showcase what they learned and enhance their presentation skills.
Workshop conducted by World Renowned Mohiniyattam exponent and Scholar Dr.Neena Prasad
We provided a rare platform for lot of aspiring students and teachers to come learn under the guidance of such a famous artist from Kerala. Such opportunities help create awareness amongst the common man.
This workshop was later concluded by a small recital and glimpse into the art of Mohiniyattam along with a lecture demonstration by Dr.Neena prasad herself, which was a divine experience for all the rasikas and participants .
